dogs that bite,
A couple of months back poor zak was attacked by a young tan staffie, at first the staff ran after tasha who is very playful, she is only 18mts old, at first i thought they were playing and the owner of the staff said oh thats nice there playing, it the first time i have let her off the lead, but then i saw that tasha was actually scared and told the woman, just then tasha came racing towards me with a look of sheer terror in her face, she ran right between my legs and hid at the back of them, the staffie then launched herself at poor zak who was just sat at the side of me, she had zak by his jowells, he was crying in pain, i had to try and seperate the staffie from zaks face, so i pulled on his lower jaw, and also on the top jaw at the same time covering his nostrils, she eventually let go, the owner gave me her address and told me to let her know how he was, i brought him home and gave him a valium, i normally only give them to him if he has more than 7 fits, anyway he did have a small fit, i went to see this young lady the following day, she told me that her dog had been badly beaten as a pup and that she had rehomed her, she said she just wanted to socialize her, i said that she needed to get a muzzle on her, then see how she plays, she has been on the fields since this happened with her dog muzzled, but tasha and zak refuse to play with her, (and they say elephants never forget)
Canine Epilepsy
I have had just over two years with my boxer zak,s epilepsy, and I have learnt quite a lot about his condition, he has never gone more than 38 days, but this month we are already on day 37 so I am keeping my fingers crossed(and everything else) since zak appeared on pedigree dogs exposed i have had various comments, but just lately they have been getting a lot more positive, it would be lovely if i could chat to another dog owner who,s dog has fits too, so please get in touch, one thing that i did learn is that sometimes certain foods can trigger a fit, so i watched very carefully what i gave him, and for just over 2 months now i have not given him cheese, and its been since then that he has gone to the 38 day mark, so i will soon know,.
